Project Kokanee the organization that does so much to bolster our fisheries has become the victim of theft.
I had the Project Kokanee trailer parked behind a locked gate at my office on the night of June 10 when someone broke into it and took all of our raffle prizes, related Rod Browning, Project Kokanee Chairman of the Board. We had the trailer all loaded up for our event at New Melones Reservoir. There were a lot of Cabelas items in the trailer along with 18 St. Croix rods and 18 Abu Garcia reels.
To get at the trailer, the thieves cut the lock to my gate, drove in, backed up to the trailer, cut both locks to the back door of the trailer and loaded up all of our prizes, added Browning.
Browning is asking everyone out in Fish Sniffer Country to keep his or her eyes and ears open. If anyone hears about or sees a large amount of new Cabelas items, St. Croix rods or Abu Garcia reels at a swap meet or garage sale, please give Browning a call, (916) 456-1331.
