    Re: Whats YOUR fishing store?

That wasn't my experience. I would have ranked them ahead of Outdoor Pro. But, I haven't been there in 4 years. It sounds like things might have gone downhill. Sorry to hear that.

    My son...

    Re: Whats YOUR fishing store?

If distance were no object, number one for me is also Fisherman's Warehouse. Unfortunately, both Sacto and Manteca are kind of far. Sportsman's Warehouse in Fairfield is closer and I like the place...
  4. Re: Camping and Fishing - Best Practices for Cleaning Fish?

I think I tend to agree with your approach. Too much dumping along the banks in shallow still water could make it pretty nasty, IMO. Out in he middle of a deep lake, I think it would be no issue.

    Re: Shift Linkage Problem? (Console)

OK, this is from a guy that knows next to nothing about these things (me).

I would expect there are instructions on where the shift shaft should be positioned when reinstalling the lower unit...

    Re: Downrigger: Cable or Braid

I haven't noticed any wobble so I guess if there is any it can't be too severe. I can say without any hesitation, the pancake weights are anything by symmetrical in cross section so I would be...

    Re: Downrigger: Cable or Braid

Yep, it is a welcome sound. If I'm hearing cable hum it means I'm in the boat out on the water!

I switched from 8# round to 12# pancake weights. Hum seems to be much less. Don't know why. ...

    Re: Thieves

This is a really good idea - thanks.

Where did you source these? Also, curious if you replaced the "tilt up" pivot bolt with one of these?

Re: The Name Of This Lure?

Don't know the name of the one pictured in the original post, but I remember super dupers. Used them when I was a kid. Still have some, but they aren't old.

Anyway, I hope this "click like"...
  11. Re: WTB Left Handed Line Counters (Trout/Kokanee)

I use a couple of Lexa 100LC's almost weekly. Had them for over a year. No problems. I'm pretty happy with them.

Wasn't it renamed to Cheer Island. As in, "there used to be an island right cheer!"

    <Oh boy - that was bad>

Hiya Jetspray. Yeah, hopefully he won't be putting any MTBEs in the water -- Yikes!

    Re: Lake Pardee 711/19

Another great day at Pardee. Thanks for the report.

Next time I hook the boat up and get to the end of the subdivision, I'm turning right for Pardee instead of left for Berryessa. Hahah

    Re: Boat Buying Help

I'm not sure they even allow boats from Southern California there. It is the zebra/quagga mussel questionnaire:

"Are you from, or has vessel been operated or moored in, any of the following...
  16. Re: New to the site and boat ownership! (Cadillac Boat)

I think he probably posted here by mistake. He has some posts over on another forum about modifying his tin boat. Wants to add rod lockers & etc. Anyway, I don't think there are any hi-jinks. I...

    Berryessa 7/11

Got these yesterday morning at Berryessa. Not quite a double but back-to-back. One rod at 40' and the other at 50'. Speedy shiners. Trolling 2.6 mph.

Fat and decent size. Faint spots all over...
