    Re: Hospital ships

I stand by what is said. Cruise lines are very conscientious concerning pollution. Theres always going to be exceptions but they are rare in relation to the number of cruise ships and miles cruised....

    Re: Ice chests/Coolers

A simple thread about ice chests and 2 members have to turn it into something both political and hateful. Disgusting. Hard to ignore when especially one of them is constantly in people’s faces.

    Re: A geezer's reminicences

I am also a native Californian, felt alienated for the same reasons as you all. Thought of leaving several times but it just never worked out. Im stuck here now. However I think Northern California...

No Seon, Ill take the high road and leave further discussion on this thread to others.

Chill RD, no one needs your moral platitudes or telling other members what to do or how to to live. You were the biggest complainer about the campfire board, said all you wanted was fishing topics....

    Re: Back Country Patterns

I am almost purely a dry fly fisher and I only fish classic patterns that have been around since around 1950 and prior. I may not catch as many fish as you all who use a modern arsenal of fly...

My favorite is a hot Reuben samwich with lots of hot corned beef, melted Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, spicy German mustard, kosher dill pickles on the side on dark rye. My second favorite is a simple...

Once they go more than 6 or 7 posts many threads tend to go astray and off the tracks.

Re: CA state fishing closure could be next

I don’t understand closing down all fishing. Most fishing is easy to do while practicing “social distancing”. In most cases most people especially shore fishing, people don’t want to be close to...

They are not (yet) closing a bay, they are closing marinas, launch ramp facilities and areas where people gather.

Re: 20 ft Alumaweld Stryker info needed

Up until recently I had a 19 Alumaweld Stryker. Loved the boat. It met all my needs, was a great boat. Was good in rough water too. I did have one problem with it, I had a small stress fracture...

    Re: new boat to me!

Congrats on the new (to you) Montauk. A great boat, safe and seaworthy for its size. I have a different take on this though. I think a 17 boat is toooo small to safely go 30 miles out in the ocean...

Re: Rod/Reel Question for the experts :)

Nice combo but I think its a little light for what you want to use it for. You are probably ok for medium to small striper and salmon but bigger fish will own you. I agree with CDK a 6 gill or ray...
