    Re: 3/17 + 3/18 SJ Trolling

There was a fair amount of junk in the water. Typically needed to clear lines every 5-10 minutes if you didn't have a fish hit it. Managable but not ideal.

    Re: 3/17 + 3/18 SJ Trolling

Didn't mark much on the finder while trolling. There were some fish holding close to the bottom that would look like a very slight bottom change more so then an arch. Pretty much every time we went...

    3/17 + 3/18 SJ Trolling

Spent an overnighter on the SJ. Launched out of Brannan Island on 3/17. Tried bait fishing for striper and sturgeon for a few hours. Little to no action.

Switched over to trolling deep diving...

    Re: Miller 10/19

Try running different weights on your kwiks. One with heavier weight (3oz) one side another with less weight (1oz) another side. This will let you lift and go over/under your second rod.

    If your...
  6. Re: Here we go ..... More from Stupid... Catch and Release harms fish ....

So reading the article it states "the actual impact on the survival of hook-injured fish was not followed".

I wouldn't get too worked up over an article based on theory. There are plenty of...

    Re: Quick Report 9/22/2018

What rod do you like to use for tossing those big glide baits? Just picked up a couple myself and am shopping around for something that can toss a 16oz lure.

Re: Freeport- combat fishing in a boat?

Great video to break down the way to jig on the Sac. Some of this was filmed right where you jumped into the line up.

  9. Re: Legal Question About the American River

I-80 crosses the Sac river both North of the American and also South of the American. Which is being referenced?

I assume I -80 by Miller Park as mentioned?
  10. Re: Legal Question About the American River

Bringing up an old thread here but had a question I couldn't find an answer to in the regs.

Here are the regs pertaining to fishing at night. My question is, what is the definition of "Interstate...

    Re: Pyramid Newbie Need Help!

Caught 138, 106, and 97 fish respectively on the last three openers, all jigging. These fish are not picky and will follow a jig to the surface and hit it frequently.

    You ideally want to target...

    Re: Jigging Clarification

Yes, you need a single hook any point North of the Bus 80 Bridge in Sacramento. This includes the upper reaches of the Sac including the mouth of the American and downtown Sac, American River, and...
  13. Re: Two Pole Regs on the Sacramento River

Yes, 100% legal to fish with two rods on the Sac river. The only exception would be any barbless area such as on the AR between Anchil Hofman and the Hatchery.

Re: SF Salmon trip this Sunday?

I'll be going out of Bodega on Sunday if you wanted to head up that way. The bar out of the gate can get a little dicey at times.

Opening week is pretty spotty in the Sac region. However, Tight Lines Guide Service, James Netzel is the man you're looking for if he is running trips that early. He splits his time between Stampede,...

Re: Jogging on the Sacramento below Sac

It's actually the opposite. SOUTH of 80/50 jigs with trebbles are fine. NORTH of that bridge its single hook.

OTW at 7am two of us fished until 4pm for 24 LCTs. To put that into perspective we had 138 LCTs last year on the opener.

The water was 66 degree with a TON of debris in the water. Was told by a...

  25. Re: Headed to Donner Lake this weekend any advice/tips?

Bank fishing it tough on Donner right now. Especially since they have drained it to winter levels. However, you're best bet is to concentrate on the West end near the boat ramp. That is where they...
