Jumped aboard the Morningstar out of Vallejo last Sunday to try my luck for a sturgeon. About 12 on board. Beautiful calm conditions. Muddy, as always, water. Have no idea on the water temp. Mud shrimp were the baits. Fished various spots in SPB, staying in mostly shallower water. I had my doubts given the big full moon, but I went out anyway thinking that sturgeon , being bottom feeders, would not be that effected. One undersized striper for me and a good "one and done" pump. Two keeper stripers for some other guys. The big winner was a 10 year old boy whose mom has been taking him out on various fishing adventures. Good for her. The kid caught three undersize stripes, a shaker sturgeon and the only keeper sturgeon. No more full moon fishing for me.
