Why is it that even on your disaster days you do better than my good days ?

    Maybe i should try knitting.

Good going man! It sure was nice out yesterday. I trolled around southhampton for a few hours and only picked up 1 shaker. Got bored and drifted dead bait for the last hour and and landed a small leopard shark.

Guess I'm spoiled as far as fuel usage goes.I use about 6 or 7 gallons in a typical south Bay Halibut trip .All the money saved on fuel goes to the chiropractor though :)

    First 2017 Hali trip

Dragged the Valhalla out of the shed for the first time since last fall. Decided that I wanted to replace the controls and cables since the others were starting to show some wear and getting a little stiff. Damn winter sure got by me fast, just getting this sort of maintenance done now. Also had to clean the kicker carb out because of crap in the bowls. Got everything done and checked out on the trailer. Brined up some herring that I netted this winter. Splashed this morning at Bezerkey, fired both motors up at the dock, purring like a couple kittens while we rigged up. Go to leave and shifter is not right, cant use the main,,damn it, why is it boats always works great on the trailer lol. My buddy's are good with using the kicker and fishing out front, our plan was to run to OP. We came to fish and fish we will. Made a few laps with a handful of boats and around 1130 called it a day, since we didn't want to get stuck in traffic. Tried the Main again and got it to go in gear, o'yeah, headed in with 3 beautiful flatties in the box. Burned a whole 5 gal. gas for the day,,hahaha. Need to get a few things dialed in. With this mornings challenges, still a awesome day,,,Gregg
