    Re: Smoked Prime Rib Roast

Dam that looks good. Not a good idea to look at the smoked salmon thread or a post like this after you just ate. My brother bought 2 marinated tri tips from Bud's Meats and we barbequed them for Mother's Day. Coals were going out so I threw chunks of apple wood on them and before they caught we got 10 minutes of smoke. Was nice with a little smoke flavor. That might be one of the best cuts of meat I've seen in a while. Need to try smoking prime rib sometime. And the cake too. Dam I'm hungry again!

Beef always stands up well to smoke. I would say a stronger smoke than salmon.

    Smoked Prime Rib Roast

Throwing a little birthday party for one of my wife's good friends today. Prime rib and baked potatoes for the main course and this delicious Caramel Cream cake for dessert. The roast is 6 pounds and will be going in with 5 oz. of hickory and apple wood at 225 degrees.

Wanted this for breakfast in a bad way.
