    After talking to a few more you are right, better just to use live jumbo minnows and my old standby fresh mackerel. Thanks

    You can catch them year round, really. But the best time of year that I have found is late summer.

    When do you start catching crayfish. Neighbor caught baskets full in Lake Natomas but he doesnt remember what month it was.

    Threadfin are too fragile to use as live bait IMO. If you look at them the wrong way they keel over.

    If we cant use a cast net, how do we catch live bait fish at Clearlake for the catfish.
