Sometimes applied heat and a tap with a hammer breaks the tumblers loose. I have an old spray can of Ford lock release (35 years old) it works all the time for me. Lithium spray works too. If they are pointed toward the sky on lids and such it is probable that they are full of gunk, try spraying them out with brake spray cleaner and canned air first........Jetspray

I still can’t picture these locks in my mind without pictures but I had a similar problem with the locks on my camper shell rear door. The problem turned out to be the key. Over time after hundreds or thousands of times using the key to lock/unlock the key wore down a little. I had new keys made with crisp sharp edges and definitions and the problem resolved.

I just reread your post and I can’t tell if these are actual locks that require a key or just clasps of some kind with a push button release. That is why a couple pics would help to evaluate the problem and a solution.
