    Re: berkeley halibut

Broke the ice yesterday with the first trip. Had my brother in law visiting from Minn. and another buddy on board. We had low expectations, but figured we go anyways since the lack of rain has the bay fairly clean. Very little bait marked around Richmond and Berkley, but when I did find some, I worked a grid and picked a fish. Just a short and this legal for our efforts, but it's mid February. First time for my Brother in Law on/fishing the bay, seeing and catching a Halibut. Plus it was on the Valhalla, which he watched me build on social media, that had him stoked even if it was a just a boat ride. He and my sister loved it, he called it Walleye of the west, haha, if you ever have ate Walleye, you would know that's a big endorsement,,,gregg

    Re: berkeley halibut

I usually start to hunt for halibut in March-April and from personal experience they start to show more in the South Bay area first. Next Alameda, then the East Bay. Again, this is just my personal experience through the years. Hope to have an early season with this spring like weather lately. Goodluck with your season.

    berkeley halibut

Does the early spring mean that the halibut should be there soon?
