Nice. I've always wanted to check out the Peninsula. Thinking next time we are down there we are going to hang out in Playa Venao for a few days.

I was stationed in panama 68-71 at galeta island. we would walk along the reef at night at our
rec area and get laungusta? they are like a big lobster, fish at the eastern end of the canal and
catch snook up to 25 lbs, and where the chagris? river flows into gatun lake and catch red snapper
5-10 lbs. best fishing of any place i've been. on the way home we'd stop at the local fish market
and get fresh shrimp for 20 cents a kilo. that's the only place I was a big shrimp consumer.
    be safe

95% of the time the lighter kit is doable. Its that 5% when the giant bites that make things sketchy. Clearly a 5% fish. ;)

Thank you! Here's the big fish edit - a giant 230lb yellowfin tuna that we tag-teamed (Dave Gault and yours truly) on the inshore kit. Asses kicked, but we kicked harder in the end, despite the rod snapping in two right at color:
