No, but it was super windy. I'm sure the rec boaters will be out in force when it's warm and the winds are down.

    5/6/2018 Garcia Bend

I took my son out Sunday morning for Shad in the Garcia Bend area. We started due north of red channel marker 10 along the north bank in 16 feet of water. The west wind was so bad that in the weak incoming tide, we were blown facing upstream. We got a double around 8:30 am, and decided to head downstream out of the wind.

Our second spot was right in the middle of the river across from Stan’s Yolo Marina in 16 feet of water. We picked up four more shad here, and once the outgoing tide got rolling about noon, the boat finally straightened out in the wind. We pulled lines at 1 PM with six shad in the boat.

    Location: Garcia Bend
    Water Temperature: 65 degrees
    Weather: Strong West Wind, sunny
    Lure: Dick Nite spoons
    Depth: 16 feet
Tide: mostly slow incoming, caught very start of outgoing
River Level at I Street bridge: 6 feet
    Visibility: about 2.5 feet, clear
My son with a nice shad by marker 10

Another shad by Stan's Yolo Marina
