Re: CA Delta Crappie Where to Find Them?

Has anybody had any luck on fall crappie in the Delta? Wish there was more activity on Delta crappie on this forum.

I have had luck catching crappie in Georgiana Slough. I was using live worms either floating from a bobber or in a drop shot rig.

Many times they hang out in groups so you have to try a lot of areas to see where they are hiding.

I agree , but salt could be an issue. I think that anywhere you can catch large mouth would hold Crappie. Would fishing farther up stream be too difficult? Just to be sure.

Crappie are everywhere in the delta, you just have to find where! I'm not being a smarty, just truthful, good luck on your hunt and I hope you find them, they are tasty!

Fish CA Delta Crappie Where to Find Them?

    Hey all,
My fishing partner in crime is from Wisconsin and swears crappie is delicious. Now we want to give it a go and try for a few to put in the frying pan. We launch out of bethel. Are there crappie that far west in the delta or is the tidal movement create too much salinity for crappie there? Was thinking of throwing a few crappie jigs around the docks between bethel and Russos but do not want to waste my time if they are not there. I am not asking for spots just how far west in the delta do they exist. Any other info you can share would be appreciated.
    Tight lines,
    D
