    Also, if you have a salmon on board you need to fish everything else barbless after that (Rockfish, halibut, striper...)

    I just pinch the barb with a needle nose pliers.

    Never a problem.

    yes barbless on everything. You can remove the barb anyway you want as long as none of its there. We've all heard the story of the warden and the q-tip test.

    Barbless Hook question for ocean

    Do all hooks on lures and bait need to be barbless when trolling for ocean salmon?

    Also, if required to be barbless, can you pinch the barb down or does it need to be cut and filed?

    Very new to the ocean game and reading the rules leaves some needed interpretation. Thanks!
