We hit the East Carson today last bridge before hwy 4, Jeff got a couple to take home for the smoker, both pushing 4 lbs. There are a few more there but not many and they are under the bridge if you can find them......Jetspray

I agree on the firefighters diligence, but the road workers are quickly getting things done as well. Give it a couple of days or maybe a week and they should be done. Grind it up and lay it down, works the best...….Jetspray

The fishing car (2006 Altima 2.5) was running great. Annoyed everyone with some Guitar Masters mix & Pink Floyd mix. The only hold up going both ways was about 15 mins max either direction with a bunch of Semi's mixed in with regular traffic. For the second season (road work) it wasn't too bad, 1st season is winter (we only have two seasons on this side of the mountains)........Jetspray

    W. Walker after the Fire. 09/12.

Sense just after Labor Day there has been a fire along the upper West Walker Canyon. Jetspray, JB Fishing and I went south to take a look. Except for a hot spot or two it has now moved on to the south and east. Some of my favorite fishing spots along 395 and 108 were in the burn area I had to check them out. Turns out everything is pretty good. The fire was mostly on the canyon walls and ridge tops. The fire only touched 395 and the river in a couple of spots. The fire fighters did an excellent job keeping the flames away from the river. Chris Flat and Sonora Bridge are open for camping. The MWTC and Pickle Meadow are clear of fire. Even found a few little trout at Mid Canyon.
