It was about an hour before high tide. The chovies and shiners were all in the mix. Went this past thursday and only caught bait....

Was it low tide when you got your halibut? When you were jigging up bait, was there a big concentration of anchovies or a mix of shiners as well?

I took my father in law last Thursday and right away we got into the bat rays. It slowed down as i started to jig for bait. As soon as the first chovie came up he went for a swim about 15 yards away from the pier. BOOM 25 inch hali came up. About 10 mins later a short ling surprised us with a visit and he went back into the bay. Not a bad day as we ate good that night
