Re: Three hooks in SF Bay?

One more question, let’s see if somebody in the know sees it here! Does anybody have information on which regulations apply to Bel Marin Keys? The regulations are below - question is, does Bel Marin Keys qualify as tidal?

    “San Francisco Bay District
Includes San Francisco and San Pablo bays, plus all their tidal bays, tidal portions of their rivers and streams, sloughs and estuaries between the Golden Gate Bridge and Carquinez Bridge”

Re: Three hooks in SF Bay?

Awesome, thanks again! I only use a single rod with 2 hooks for rockfish anyway (and never inside the bay) so no issue there. This was a question for fishing for sharks/stripers/rays etc. using anchovies.

Went in Larkspur today, using three hooks. Not sure that 2 vs 3 made a difference, but caught a couple stripers and some smelt with my son :)

Not if you target rockfish or have any in possession.

    Three hooks in SF Bay?

I was rechecking the saltwater fishing regulations for the SF Bay (been catching a decent amount of stripers from the shore lately :)), and this caught my eye:

“While fishing in San Francisco and San Pablo bays you can only use one fishing line with no more than three separate hooks or lures.”

To me that reads like I can only use a single rod (expected), but use up to THREE hooks instead of the usual two. Has anybody put that theory to the test? I wouldn’t want to find out I’m wrong when a warden is there.
