Re: Remote steering and throttle control for a kicker

I have the Python and the I-Troll. Spent months doing research before deciding. Cant say enough good about either one. You will want the remote for the Python which makes trolling with grandkids a lot easier. Stand anywhere in the boat and steer. The linkage that came with the Python went in the trash an I made my own.

The I-troll shipped with a broken rheostat. Made a phone call to the guy that builds them and he over-nighted a new one and provided a return shipping label for the broken one. Not real keen on the "Cat-5" connector but for what they are controlling with the unit it is the only way to make it happen. Talk to the manufacturer (who will actually take your call personally) and he can explain it better than me.

I haven't used the "hunt mode" that comes as an option. What I like is the precise throttle control as well as the ability to push a button to idle and push it again to resume previous.

Overall a perfect match (Python and I-Troll) for someone looking to free themselves from the cockpit of the boat.

You adjust that manually with the tilt and tiller throttle. Works fine for trolling at a steady speed.

Remote steering and throttle control for a kicker

Hey guys been looking at remote throttle and steering systems in a reasonable price range (not TR-1) and am leaning towards powrtran python for steering and a itroll for speed. Not really sure about the panther t5 reviews and trollmaster isn't waterproof so that's why I'm leaning with my choices above. So do any of you guys have a itroll or powrtran python system in your boat? Likes... Dislikes... Thanks to those who responded to my PM's also.
