Well... I'm gonna take the plunge. *This Sunday me and my boys are heading to the islands in my own boat. *We went out a couple weeks ago on a charter and we really enjoyed it. We're goin after big lings and rockies and ....?? whatever else there may be
(any suggestions on other types of fish, locations, baits would be GLADLY ACCEPTED!!)
I have a Renken 2280 open bow with a 2.5 Seadrive. She handles the bay very easy and the weather is suppose to be nice.
ANYONE ELSE HEADING OUT THERE SUNDAY??

Good luck...I find that stopping @ Winco for a few lbs. of baby octopus for the bottom hook or jig helps with the big vermillion, coppers and especially ling cod......last trip.....5 lings (I kept the 2 over 20 lbs.), 8 coppers and 2 vermilion..........have a great time.....

You'll be fine. Nice little swell in the am, *I"m guessing most likely it will lay down nice out there. Have fun. If you're going thru the gate the bar will be running around around 3:30 pm. *If Bodega? I'll be heading up to gualala on Sunday unless they find the albies inside of 50 mi tomorrow. Give a shout out. * ;)Good luck.

THANKS MUCH FOR THE REPLIES!!
Well.. we made it bad!! Quite a trip.
We had been watching the buoy data all week and it said "small wind waves with small swells and foggy.
The day was really foggy all (1/4 mile at best) but the weather was beautiful!! *The waves were small and swells were too. If you don't know the websites, here they are

Nice job. The islands rockfish are amazing. You can catch them on a bare hook.
