Hi guys, wich HWY do you take when going to Bodega, 12 or 116, cause yahoo maps show HWY 12 in wich the distance is just a couple of miles shorter,
but i drive just one time for HWY 12 between hwy 1 and 101 and that was like 4 years ago and i remember(maybe not :-/ ) a road totally full of turns, wich is not very pleasant to drive with the boat behind.

Thanks a lot.

Slow and gracefully over 12 with the glassply....shortest route for you

when you come down the hill into Santa Rosa........ honk.....I can hear you up onthe hill...if it's not 4 am ;) ;D ;D

depending where you are coming from but if you boat is tall then Bodega highway from Petaluma is the best bet,it may be a little longer but no low trees to take off the anntenas and radar.Highway 12 is not a bad road just lots of corners and low trees

116 out of Sebastapol is a twisty road too, there really is no easy way to get to Bodega Bay.

If you're coming from the Sac area, HWY 37 to 116 is the way to go. I've gone through on 12 a few times, but 116 is much easier (and faster) for towing.

Don't get confused when you get to Sebastopol. Highway 12 ends where it meets Highway 116 in the middle of Sebastopol. From that point west to Highway 1 you will be on a county road called Bodega Highway. You will reach Highway 1 just over a hill after you reach the very small town of Bodega. Go north on Highway 1 until you see the signs and smell the ocean breeze. If you are coming west on Highway 12 stay off Highway 116. Go directly across 116 where Highway 12 becomes Bodega Highway . Better yet, if you have a big boat send me a private message and I'll go fishing with you.

If you are comming over the hill from Calistoga, you want to take hwy12. you don't want to go all the way down to 116. From the north end of Calistoga Head over the hill to Santa Rosa and take Portter Creek Rd towards Santa Rosa (don't take Calistoga Rd all the way into Santa Rosa) Portter Creek becomes Mark Westsprings Rd. just keep going until you come to the town of Fulton. Left on Fulton Rd until you get to Hwy 12 right on Hwy 12 and keep going until you get to hwy 1 Make a right at hwy 1 and you are almost there. It should take you just over an hour to get there. from the north end of Calistoga. By taking fulton rd you can miss all of the trafic back up on hwy 101 in santa rosa.
