Salmon fished Friday all day for nada.. no story to tell, go figure. Capt. Old Scool had a nice fish on but it popped off near the boat but not near the net.. Oh, but I caught 3 keeper lings fishing an FBR/Herring/Dodger near the bottom.

The bigger and better story was Saturday. Bassassin, Aintscared, Capt. Old School, and myself went outside Tomales Head and hammered the rockies.. while we didn't get limits, we finished with 30+ and tossed back another 3 limits of smaller grade.. Bassassin nailed the biggest black I've ever seen and we also managed to catch our limits of lings.. Capt. Old School got a sweet starry flounder that on the rocks which was a total surprise! Aintscared pulled off another amazing act of fishing by hammering a 17# halibut while drifting a tube jig in 118' of water. My bro never ceases to amaze me with the luck he has!

Got to talk to Fishenrick out on the water, hope you and the boys got into some nice rockies! Tattoo Joe and crew made it to camp and we got to visit for a bit.. they were gone when we woke up.. hope you all had a great day on the water! VHF batteries didn't last so I didn't get to talk to anyone on the radio and spotty cell phone coverage kept reports to a minimum..

Another few interesting things to note, Capt. Old School had a pelican dive bomb his herring while he was letting line out but it came to the boat peacefully for the hook extraction.. thanks DFG for barbless salmon gear! Finally, towards the end of the day on Friday I was running an FBR/Dodger near the bottom in 100' of water and my rod bends over, line starts ripping off, I lay wood.. OH YEAH BABY! FISH ON! ZZZZZZZ-ZZZZZZZZ-ZZZZ.. line heading to the top, what a HOG! Then a sea lion breaks water! Holy Sh^t! Now what? I'm running my sturgie rod, Penn 320, 65# braid.. Hmm.. I think I can take him! I've got 300 yards of line, and we've got a jetboat! Seconds later.. hey, what are we gonna do with it when we get it to the boat? The TEAM PILE concoction is getting to me! Oh heck with it, pop the line! And we kept on fishin!

Great weekend with great people! Can't wait to do it again! Pics to follow when I get around to it! FISH ON!

Great shots!!! we wanted to stop by your camp for a while but it was late and we wern't sure what time they close the gates at Lawsons,, we did hook up with Fishinrick and had a few wobbleys with him.

We had a few real nice blacks in our bag also.. I had one fish hit hard pull hard only to get snagged up on the bottom and he was gone :-/ the guys have a great pic of me fighting the rocks trying to pull the fish free.

We did pull a limit of nice Rocks and I got the only Ling for the day. You should have been there to watch ric1ric battle the Mackrel it was funny he was using an ultra lite with 4lb test and you thought he had a whale on ;D

Thanks for sharing...RD
