View Full Version : Boatin and Fishing in Tomales Bay

i would like some input by those who have boated there. i know stay away from the mouth and the sand bars there. i have a galaxy 20ft cuddy cabin. very reliable boat. i would like to go after the sharks or halibut in the bay. i have been boating in the lower delta for the last 20yrs. been in every kind of weather and wave scenario..i have all the safety equipment, gps , marine radio, etc. this a good set up for the bay? thanks kc

your only concern shiuld be to watch the tides and pick the days you can launch your boat. A negative tide means no water at miller park launch so be sure to set some timelines . im not sure if there are other launch ramps.

You can launch at lawsons landing and just south of tonys reasteraunt,both are beach ramps!The folks at lawsons landing can give you all the info youll need about boating in the area. I would sugest going there your 1st time out. After that try nicks cove its alot cheaper to park and launch they also have a paved ramp.
