I'll be camping there Friday-Sunday morning. Any advice on the where, when and what?

From what i know and understand Putha Creek is catch & release single hook barbless. A lot of people fly fish that creek.

Regs are (147) Putah Creek (Solano and Yolo cos.) from Solano Lake to Monticello Dam.All year. Only artificial lures and barbless hooks may be used.0

So, treble hooks would be OK.

There's some big natives in there I've seen them. Fished that place about 5 times never had luck. Fished with power bait. Next time I go ill be using spinners and walking the creek more towards the dam side

There are invasive species in Putah Creek that require extra care with your gear to prevent their spreading to other waters. Here's a link to some info. Be careful and concientious.
