They look like genuine Largemouths to me.

Hard to tell if those jaw lines extend past the eyes but I believe they are LMB as well

Thanks guys I thought and hoping as much even lineside said they were LMB but that one bass I caught looked little different it's the second pic that baffled me. What are characteristics to look for for spots. Something about the mouth?

Spots will have raspy teeth on their tongues, you can feel them with your finger. Don't know about your private pond and how things get introduced but the public waterways have lots of hybrids. Crosses with largies, smallies and spots.

LMB most likely. Next time you catch a crappie look at its markings. They look sort of similar to a spot. Not nearly as green in color as the garden variety ditch pickle like you caught. Nice fish for a backyard pond. I'm jealous.

These are pond pickles lol and they get much bigger then this. My crappie don't have lateral lines so your saying spots don't either?

Look like LMB too me as well. There are quite a few ways I have read to tell the difference: Like most have said LMB jaw hinge goes past eye, spots doesn't. The cheek scales of a LMB are about the same size as the body scales where as SB have small cheek scales. SB two dorsal fins are connected where as a LMB is not.

No, I didn't say that at all. All I said was they sort of look a little alike.

As for the pics. LMB. Reasons have already been stated. But crabby i got to ask.. What with the bass/carp comparison? Im the first guy to catch and release a bass, but i never understood when people say theyre no good to eat. I think bass is great table fare.... JMO... lol :smiley_crazy:
(but yes crappie takes the cake. hahaha)

All the spotted bass i've caught had red eyes. Also their mouth are alot smaller compare to a large mouth that's the same size as the spotted. FISH ON
