Curious as to what zones fellow Sniffer big game hunters are planning on hunting and what.

I'm putting in for X9a, X7a and D6 for first tag choices as a party hunt with 4 other hunters. Also applying for the Open zone Deer and Elk fundraising tags. Although I feel like throwing myself down the stairs. My 5th year hunting and the first three years I did not apply for X zone not knowing that if you didn't draw, you'd still get a point. I would have had four points but for that dumb move i only have 1pt, could've had a better chance this year :duh:. May also buy a Bear tag since I saw a few good bears last season in the same area I plan on returning too.
Any-hoot, good luck in the drawings!

X6A or X6B, A13 or A14, Haven't decided yet. Probably wind up with D3-5. Nevada tags are in already.

When I was a kid I lived for hunting. Fishing was mostly something I did when there was nothing to hunt. For about the last 10 years or so I have hardly hunted at all but I almost find it is not really worth it anymore. I grew up in what is now X4 and used to hunt X4, X3 and X1 mostly. Now if I am lucky I will probably get drawn every 4 years or so.

Don't get me wrong I just spent almost $100 tonight on what is basically a lottery ticket. Put in for X4. I guess I need to start hunting out of state again but most of my old friends have either stopped hunting, gotten too old or are too broke to go.

Oh well maybe in a few years I will have enough points to actually have a shot at a California elk or sheep.

The deer zones Im going for are; G 19, G12, G37.. If no luck then I will get my D3-5.. My big game pics: ELK-Big Lagoon Bull, Antelope-Zone 4 Lassen Per-1, Big Horn Sheep-Zone 2 Kelso Peak/Old Dad Mountains.. I was drawn for an antelope tag about 8 years ago, had a chance at a few nice bucks, also seen a REALLY big monster antelope buck that was just to freaking smart I guess! The other 2 almost look like twins, I had a shot at either one, but I straight up just took too dam long! and they spooked! I was sick:sick: It was still a great experience that I will never forget,,

I never did want to spend the extra money to be in a drawing for a zone that I know nothing about. I think it's a great thing though, but it's just not for me. I have been hunting zone D7 for the past 10 years and have been quite successful on bagging a buck. Out of the 12 years, I've bagged 7 bucks. All 2X2 but that's how I like them. The younger, the better eating they are. I'm not too big on the antlers. Just want food in the freezer so the first buck I see, it's going down. Good luck to everyone this coming season. I can't wait to see the buck porns. LOL

Got my first deer tag for D6 last year, only hunted a couple times all I saw were does. Been a small game/upland hunter for the rest of my years in the field. I have 5 acres in the foothills, crawling with deer. Had a nice buck in velvet with 2 does here two nights ago. With my new bow, a new D6 tag, I'm hoping I can make my first kill in August.
