View Full Version : Half Moon Bay lodging

Putting together a last-minute trip to Half Moon Bay this weekend and am hoping for help with a few things, as it will be my first time out of that location (usually launch/fish out of Moss Landing)

--recommendations on good, relatively inexpensive places to stay
--should I plan on putting in and paying for moorage or would my boat be relatively safe if I kept it on the trailer (only going for one night)
--anything unusual or important a newcomer should know about the launch ramp and facilities?
--good place to get bait?
--good breakfast/lunch spot!

Thanks for any suggestions!!

I'm driving so here's something quick.

There's bait in the shops near the launch. Actually a whole tackle store.

If you can lock your boat up it should be fine for 1 night. Just don't leave anything in view.

When you head out the jaws don't go right. There's a reef. Head out last the buoy and then turn.

Watch out for crab pots near the harbor.

Launch early. It can turn into a zoo if its a hot bite.

I may see you down there if the bite is better than SF.

I know I missed some stuff but its all I got in traffic.
