Since this is strictly an ocean salmon tackle fishing question I posted it here. Move it if required.
Going through my stuff for an upcoming trip, I noticed that my favorite rotating attractor has two holes on each side of the centerline. They are to allow you to have a narrow or wide roll in a clockwise direction using one set of two holes and a counter clockwise narrow or wide roll using the other two. There is no middle hole and they are not made to have it run out away from the boat to one side or the other.
I always just picked the hole that gave me the roll I wanted and never thought about if it was clockwise or counter clockwise. Can anyone tell me what circumstance would make that important? Don't tell me it's for Northern or Southern Hemisphere trolling.
The only thing I could come up with was having the roll be away from the motor but that really doesn't strike me as being important.
