Man, today was a very very windy day. Knew that it was going to be windy, but didn't think it was gonna be that bad. End the day with a some Dungees and rockfish. Hooked up with a couple of Ling's, but both being only 20". Oh well, it was nice day though...Didn't take the rough trip across to pier 45 for live bait since there was a small craft advisory effective at noon. lol.. Bummer....FISH ON

Sounds good to me!

Where did you launch to get the dungies? I haven't had my boat out in the bay yet.

Best,

Well, we usually launch out of Fort Baker, there's a free public launch there. They just recently renovated it but i think they make it worse, It's all new an all, but they ramp doesn't go down as far anymore, so it's hard to launch or load up if it's not high tide. We have a Crestliner 1850 and we use to launch with no problem, but yesterday, we saw the ramp out of the water lol.. I mean it was a minus tided in the AM, but it was just horrible to see the end of the ramp expose like that lol.. So had to run over to Clipper's, $20 later we were on the water. lol.. Should've trust my instinct and gone striper fishing lol...As far of crabbing goes, we dont dare go out to far. We crab off baker beach, that whole stretch is pretty good during opener. Just stay more towards China beach and away from Golden Gate. The closer u are to the Golden Gate, ur pots will walk on you since there is alot of underwater current going on. Here's a little info you should read before tackling mother nature....http://www.dbw.ca.gov/Pubs/SFBay/SFBay.pdf

I use several reference to decide if i go out or not. I use a surfreport, NOAA, and a few other ones to make sure the report is consistent. I am gonna be honest, for the last 3 years, they all have been very accurate and close to it. The Small Craft advisory for this past weekend was an understatement. lol... Should've been Large Craft advisory lol... Returning to Clipper Launch was no joke, 5-10mph was the fastest u can go along the coast, wind was blowing so hard that we took in alot of water lol..Just be safe..and please please please... wear that PFD... Please....anyone going out to the ocean, this is a MUST....
