View Full Version : ICR on a Sunday Morning. (Pictures)

Haven't fished for awhile. Not much available in the Carson besides 7 inch LCT. The Walker is high and the weather hot. Had heard of a possible planting at ICR so went up early Sunday morning.

Started fishing at 0525 and had my first bow at 0535. Thought to myself that this is going to be a good day. Not so. Only managed one more fish in 3 1/2 hours of fishing. The morning was sunny with a SE wind of 5 - 10 MPH. One thing that interfeared with the fishing was weeds. The shore will start being impossible to fish in a short while. Things remain good for folks with personal floatation devices. I enjoyed getting out.

Nice bows there CC. Glad you hooked up!! It's getting hot earlier than I remember. My brother lives in Fresno and he emailed me yesterday...105 the day before and 109 yesterday. Said he's going to spend the day in his pool. LOL

Did the flying ant hatch affect you much? It killed me at Fuller Lake on Friday.. What were you using?

It actually was a substational hatch. My truck was parked by the lake and I had to close all the windows. The trout at ICR don't feed that much on the various hatches. There are tons of snales and leeches in the lake and the fish feed near the bottom. I was using Gulp and kastmasters.

Glad you were able to get out and had a couple nice bows to show for. Looks like you started out by the dam. Anything over by the campground?

How long is the hatch going to go on? Is there any way to find our which lakes it affects and which it doesn't?

Didn't get over there Tom. Rugby Not sure how long the hatch is going on but it seems to be all over the East side. Might make the Carson Interesting.
