I never have been to Spaulding but plan on
going SAturday.
Takeing the boat an plan on doing some trolling.
No riggers but leadcore instead.
Anyone have any pointers on this
lake?
I have heard it's hard to fish.
Thanks
TT

From personal experience...it can be a long day out there!

I've never fished it but have seen the poor reports too, my father-in-law used to fish it and he claims they stayed away from the deep water around the dam and went up to the creek inlet where it came in from Fordyce. Let us know how u do, I am thinking of going up there this summer at some point.

Some refer to Spaulding as the dead sea. I fished it back in late April and never got a bite on any lure or bait. Do yourself a favor and if you are planning on driving to Spaulding, skip it and procede to the Yuba Gap Exit and go fish Lake Valley Res. You will not be dissapointed. Picture one week ago at Lake Valley Res. No real big fish but plenty of action. We only kept what got hurt and let at least that many go. Lots of action. Fun day.

I would not waste my time at Spaulding. Fished there once and saw more rattlesnakes than any fish being caught. Go up the road to Fuller, lots of planter rainbows and some larger browns.

Good Luck
