View Full Version : Can't wait for tomorrow!

I'll be hiking up at a spot i've never been before. I intend on getting up around 8, eating breakfast and hitting the road only stopping for gas and crawlers. The hike looks like a steep 1 1/2 miles from google maps and i'm a little sketch as i'm going alone and there's a high possibility of me seeing something I don't want to see like a mountain lion, bear, or a rattle snake. Buuut, I'm extremely stoked because my research has told me this spot should hold large rainbows and a good population of nice browns. Due to the hiking I'm sure this spot gets little pressure but I won't know for sure until tomorrow. I'm mostly stoked about this because I've never done it before and it looks challenging and promising.

I'll report back on this thread with pictures tomorrow. If I don't I either broke my leg or encountered something big and hungry lol Wish me luck!

Be safe out there. I look forward to your report.

Fish on!

I hope your right man, but a mile and a half isn't much of a deterrent. I've done 8 miles in one day with some serious elevation gain only to find 3 other anglers fishing the spot. Lol!

Good luck man I look forward to reading your report.

Hey Dirty, go get'em!

Be sure to PM me the spot only if you catch them over 2.87 lbs. I don't mess with smaller. LOL I hope it pays off for you and more importantly hope for a safe return. I took a hike alone in a canyon on the Stanislaus that was steep walled, large boulders, and a "B****H to get around. Took a NASTY fall and was lucky I didn't break a leg. I would of never seen anyone. I broke two fishing rods though and was bleeding like mad off my shin. When I got back to the lake I parked at a guy came running over and asked if I needed help. I said, "Nope, but can I just sit and bait fish next to you for a bit with this broken rod?" I sat next to him and caught four while watching my shin swell up like a balloon. haha

That paragraph above is the longest way I could think of to say STAY SAFE and CATCH FISH. :)

Hey dirty how did you do. Hopefully the man eaters in your area don't like their meat wrapped in skinny jeans :) jk can't wait to see how you did.

Your making us all nervous Dirty, better get on here and post some pics. Cause we have no idea where to come look for you, other than its probably on the American and in a hard ass place to get too. Hope your just wore out from reeling in all those monsters.

Extremely sorry for the late post. My wifi here sucks and sniffer doesn't seem to work well at my apt. Thanks for all your concerns!

Hiked the hardest hike i've done yet with a 1500ft drop in elevation to the river. Caught a ton of fish on the sp50 but only one of good size. The next day i fished an area close to a favorite spot of mine and was rewarded with BIG fish. Missed a couple fish even bigger than the ones i'm holding :/

The next day after mountain biking to the spot with my Mom
First cast!

Great fish! Way to work for them. That water looks gorgeous. Definitely trout water. Glad you are back safe and since those were not 2.87 lbs I don't need to know where they were caught. :lolk:
J/K I love to know even where six inch fish reside. haha

Glad you are safe and thanks for sharing some nice scenery.
