You ever type up a fishing report when you're completely exhausted? I'll try to stay awake for this one....met up at Pillar Point @ 5:30 am launched at 6:00 am. We fished between 60-80 ft. south of the harbor for great results. All fish were caught on green FBR's/Herring...the first fish hopped on the line at 7:00 am and put up a mild fight weighed in at 30 lbs. ::) Baited back up threw out the line and BAM approx. 30 minutes later we had on a monster! Have you ever been spooled by a sea lion? Well that's what it looked like...the pole went down and stayed down the line went from the back of the boat to the port side within 30-45 seconds! The line was just peeling, peeling, Steve yells, "I only have 10 lines left on the spool...he's spooling us". Eric hits the throttle and we're chasing this pig. By now the fish is at least 100 yards in front of us on the port side. We finally catch up and he's swimming right next to us approx. 30 ft. from the boat. He runs we reel, he runs, we reel, this goes on for 10 minutes. Finally, get him close to the boat and I swing with the net and MISS! :-< I managed to hit him on the top of the head F_ck! Luckily, he's still on...after another 5 or so minutes we get a second chance and land him! He weighed in at 46 pounds on the dot and measured out at 41"! ;D We relax set back up and drop in the FBR's...my turn! Fish on...it's not as big and gets to the net in less than 10 minutes. He weighs in at 25 pounds. I got the "small fish" at 25! I had a blast...we trolling until 2 pm for nada. All of the excitement was in the morning...we pulled in 6 rock fish. The swells were 5-7' until around 11 am hardly no wind.
For your enjoyment...

Thanks for the report. I'm plan to pull out my trailer and boat this Friday camp out at the parking lots. Set up 6 crabs traps for red and rock crabs than hunting for salmon. I will report back how is goes.

Awesome haul, that 46# is a beast. I wish I could get out to HFB to get a couple more salmon like that.
