dam that is some fine work Carl0 . so skerred to take mine down anywhere close to that with my dull ars chattery,, chowdery chisels.. looks like about 3 twists from squirting out the side of the lathe and going thwapppp ...

What type of wood are you turning?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that its alaskan yellow cedar. One of the hardest woods available.

Do you insert lead for weight and balance in the plugs Carlo, or are they naturally balanced?

ayc yes but it is not that hard of a wood.. it cuts smooth like butter... you can watch it peel off.. cuts super smooth with paper too... some semi hard wood to turn would be poplar especially compared to ayc... you wanna see some tools smoking... the dark grain on poplar is like cutting a brick down..

not to mention ayc it kind of smells fruity sort of like bananas when turning...

Sealed and hang to dry for 24 hours and sanded.

Then Primed, sanded and prepped for paint.
