Hi all, headed out west yesterday to for a day trip with a couple of mates brad and pagey to see if the big searunner's were about after a quick look you could tell the whitebait havent turned up yet so we decided to give stringers creek a fish!!!
With all the rain we have had down this way the creek was to high to cross so we just worked a 500m section just up from the power station!!!
We set up the rods and i was the first person in the water i shot a cast out rip rip pause clunk then nothing he ripped the swimbait straight of the jig head!!!
On with another ttail and i put a cast in the same spot rip rip pause bang fish on this time the hook stuck as this brown went crazy jumping all over the place and thrashing about on the surface after a couple of min fight on the light 4lb braid the first brown of the day comes to hand!!!

after a few pic's we released this brown back into the dark tannin water!!

about 5mins later brads hooked up and after a short fight he bring's his first brown to hand aswell!!!

As we where releasing this brown pagey puts the call out for the net as he was hooked up and bye the time i get over to him his first brown was on the bank!!!

another run of the mill brown from this creek but still in top condition!!

Things went a bit quiet as the sun had broke through the clouds but only for about half an hour then brad pull's a really small trout out of the same section on a ripple shad!!!

We moved down about 200m and climbed over the step rocks and down too the deeper section of the creek pagey hooked up and busted straight off as the trout shot under the bank and popped the 6lb leader then at almost the same time brad and i hook up with pagey on net boy duties he lands brads trout and just as i was about to get a hand under my trout it pulls the hook!!!

Brads browney!!! The big fella was on fire on this trip and pagey re rigging for the 20th time already in the back ground lol!!!

We landed 4 brown's out of this section and lost a few others aswell!!

We made the call to climb back around the dam wall and fish the outflow of the turbines and with the two turbines on there was a hell of alot of water getting pumped out its alot easyier with just one going!!!

Brad was on again within 5mins and after a tuff fight in the strong current i slip the net under another small brown!!

after a quick pic brad released this small girl back into the fast flowing water!!!!

another half hour went bye and brads onto a good fish as it was hanging out deeper aswell as making a couple of good run's after some nice net work from pagey brad land's the best fish of the day!!!

The release!!!

off with a splash!!
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/22/da5aby6y.jpg

All of us hooked up again over the next hour only to drop them all after a short fight!!!

Then after a quick bite to eat i flicked out my ttail on a bit bigger jig head and let it drift down with the current after what felt like a couple of taps i ripped the rod up and the placcy gets nailed after a quick fight on my new beefed up spin stick i land the last trout for the day!!!

Another resident brown!!!
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/22/4esuma2a.jpg

back into the pieman to grow a bit bigger!!!
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/22/u6y5y9y6.jpg

After 4hours brad had landed four pagey only landed the one as he had a shocker of a day donating two packs of jig heads to the depths lol and i landed two and we all droped fish through the morning and not one searunner to be seen as these where all resident browns as the bait hadnt made its way up the river so we will have a crack at the runners again next month!!
Still beat's working though and we didnt see one other person for the whole time we where there!!!
Cheers TT

Great job. Weren't those browns planted from the Russian River in California, USA many moons ago? I love jigs caught rock cod, stripers, bass, crappie and of course trout on them.
