I have been thinking about buying some
blank trolling thin spoons (sling blades) from
Hagens.
I noticed that i can get them in .020 brass base
or .018 steel base.
The steel base only comes in nickel.
I don't understand the .020 and the .018.
What is the difference?

The difference is metal thickness.

I think brass is more dense which would explain it being heavier.

I get sorta lost when it comes to certain things i know
nothing about.
This is one of them.
I sorta thought it had something to do
with thickness but wasen't forsure.

Yes its te thickness. Youll find out that the 2 will be about the same weight. Brass is softer then steel so it needs to be thicker to hold its shape.

Brass has a high galvanic response in alkaline waters, it will turn color quickly if not coated. You can clean it with some of the dips when it does. It also depends on the species you are targeting that makes the choice for you, color and shine are the determining factors........Jetspray
