If you fish off the municipal wharf next to the board walk, you could try fishing the shallows where the water breaks and hope to catching a halibut using live bait or do some perching near the pilings. Mid-wharf is good for some anchovie/mackarel under a bobber while the end of the pier can produce some rockfish at the openings in the middle of the wharf.
If you choose to fish the shoreline, north of the pier has some kelp beds that are good for perching and rockfish. There are plenty of places to park. Use heavier lines cuz there are plenty of snags in these areas. Other areas, you might have to haul your catch up a couple of feet from the water as there are limited areas where you can actually go down to the water level.
Read & bring a copy of the regs for pics and reference to size & bag limits. Good luck!
