Nice catch see you targeted some Sanddabs for bait, a favorite for Lings and bigger Rockies. How deep did you find them? any tricks, secrets to catching them, used to catch them out of Monterey used small ones to catch some monster Lings with them bigger ones for eating. Thought about trying it out of Bodega and up to Ft Ross, but had such good luck on jigs never took the time Thanks Dennis

Always fished for sandabs in Monterey too. It was the first time I tried it at Ft Ross. Just Used sanddab rig and found them at 170'-200'.

It would be if we wouldn't eat most of them...

Oh, okay. That's fine then. I make a meat fish sandwich with dabs. It's like the perfect dish.

Crabbed Tomales Bay last weekend. Both the weather and the crabs cooperated. Kept 30 rock crabs with a 5.5" minimum and 1 Dungy that was barely legal. I threw it back. The seagulls were more aggressive than I have ever encountered. I had one land on my bow while I was at a plane(16MPH). I felt like Rodney Dangerfield out there.
