Went out of Berkeley on the Morning Dawn on 7-22. The weather was great and fishing was good too. Got limits of quality blues and blacks, and also a host of other assorted cods. I ended up catching 10 lings, 6 being legal, the other 4 undersized. I got one that was easily 20+ pounds and it was also the potluck winner WoooWHoo!. It was a super fun trip and am eager to get out again.

Hre's a pic of me with a couple of nice lings:

Sorry pics kinda stink, they were from my cell phone.

My Dad and I went out to the Farallon Islands today on the California Dawn. Rockfishing was great with limits for 28 people, and quite a few lings. My dad and I got limits of Lings to 18lbs as well as 4 Spanish Mackerel. Those Mackerel are mean! They strip off 20-30 yards of line before you could get a grip on them.

After coming back from the islands, we stopped by Seal Rock to try for Stripers/Hallies. Only a few were caught, and my Dad happened to be one of those few who got one. His fish went 22lbs.

Fun day out on the water. It was my first time out to the Islands and man did I pay the price. My routine for most of the morning consisted of Baiting up, dropping down, hooking up, reeling up, throwing the fish in the sack and then hanging over the side of the boat to empty my stomach. LOL! :D

The Farrallons are beautiful from what ive seen. Sounds awesome. Would go...but money and the parents are kinda tight. Just watch out for those pesky great white sharks. ;D ;D ;D

LOL @ Roland... But even though your getting sick, in the end it all seemed worth it huh. I've been tons and tons of times and have got sick about 4 times maybe if that. It ain't fun thats for sure, but you better bet I was fishin at the same time. This time I went with my buddy and his dad and they still tell stories how I was puking and fishin and still managed to get more fish then everyone on the boat lol

Mike, those are some great lings! Good job! Did you get them on jigs or what? A little advice would be great. I'm heading out there next month. Thanks. Also, did they stop on the way in for halibut. They did that the last time we limited early on cod and I nailed a 20lb halibut right outside golden gate.
