So I got a new gas grill over the summer. Its great - I love how easy it is like cooking outside - not quite like bbq ing. Anyway what is the best way to get a good smoke flavor? I have been wrapping wood chips in tin foil but its pretty inconsistent with the smoke. Any good ideas?

Thanks

If you can find an old Cast Iron pan (small) with a lid... that works.
I think I saw one for sale to do just that. Somewhere :-/

I just fire up my lil chef smoker. Then finish off in the BBQ.

Where are you putting your foil pack? If you lift the grill grate and put the foil pack on the burner shield, you'll have excellent results.

You can pick up a cast iron smoke box for grills at most places grills are sold. They work great.

I find that for grilling applications the chip box takes too long to heat up and begin producing smoke. If nothing else, the box of chips has to go on the heat long before the meat.
