Havnt posted much in a while. My son James and I picked up a 1959 17' Uniflite boat a couple months ago and been trying to bring it up to our liking. Anyways thats for another forum. We past the boat inspection this time (another lesson to be learned) and finally got on the water. It was about 900 sunny but windy and water temp 58. We know this because our new ff said so. Those of u that know me know that I'm a bank humper. I'll be the first to admit i dont know dog**** about trolling. We trolled from the marina to the dam and back using everything we had. We had one good takedown on a firetiger rapala but it came unbuttoned bout half way in. My guess based on you kind folks info is we be trolling to fast. The outboard wont idle down slow enough so i guess a trolling motor is on the list. (the list for owning a boat is pretty large)Wanting a fish to hit the deck we did what we're pretty good at. Bait fishing! Anchored up across from the marina and picked up this nice trout. A little over 4lb and excellent 5 or so min. battle. That was it for us. Most people on the east beach had fish and we saw a couple boaters cleaning fish also. Thanks for reading.

Congrats on getting some blood in the boat. There's lots of info here on trolling for trout.
