What a difference a year makes. In contrast to April last year at Warrior Point when fish marks filled the screen high and low and the action came steady to fast, fish marks were few and the action commensurately slow. Some fish were hiding from the sonar at the surface as we caught some top lining the shallow flats less than 15 feet deep. A few pics: a snaky 26 inch fish was tagged; a con-trail sunrise; etc.

Glad to hear you found a couple. Unlike last week, shore fishing this week evidently has been the pits.

The Pilot Peak females are kind of thin until they get over 30 inches but that dont keep them from putting up a good fight. You done good. Today was the first day of the spawn so those fish that have the urge are near or on the shore. The Nets should stort to see lots of fish. I suspect that those who aren't spawning are off shore suspended down 20 to 30 feet in 150 to 200 feet of water. Look for birds.:)

Thanks for bringing me BTS, I had fun despite the long wait between bites. It makes it worth it when you get a quality fish at the end of the wait!!!! Here are a few of my pics 19833 19834

isof, your pic of the pelicans on the point is absolutely stunning. I would be as proud of it as being the first to catch a 30 lb. LCT in modern times.
