First off I have to give it up to Dino Konrai (https://www.facebook.com/dino.konrai)! He spent three days figuring out what was wrong with our kicker motor. And I have to say today it purred all day long! Go Dino's Marine!!!!!

Now on to fishing...

We were up at 4:20 this morning. I thought that was kind of funny. At the lake and heading out towards the dam by 8:30am. Boy the lake is crazy low! We went too close to small Hat island and almost beached ourselves in four feet of water. lol. Needless to say we got the heck out of there.

Back in the channel we set up with Spoons and flies down about 30 ft. Didn't take long for the first pole to go off. Mike says, "It's Big!" We were all excited until about ten feet from the boat the leader came untied and it was gone along with the spoon. Bummer!

As we got closer to the dam the patrol boat came up and told us nobody was allowed anywhere near that area because they had divers in the water. They were there all day long. We wondered what they were doing? I just heard that there may have been a drowning. So sad.

About 9:40 I get the very first fish to the new boat!!!! 13" on the orange fly. Released for good luck.
Next was Mike with a take down on the blue/silver spoon. 14". Kept.

We were happily trolling around when the remote control for the I-pilot just stopped working. Totally our own fault as we did not recharge the remote batteries since using it for seven hours straight last weekend. UGH! So we had to steer manually for the rest of the day. First world problem right there. lol.

We next headed over to the rock wall and I picked up a 12"er on a black and white spoon with a red head. Released the little fella. He was cute. We didn't stay long in the narrows water was 74 degrees and we weren't marking many fish so it back to near the dam.

Had several bites and then Mike gets fish number four. 15" on the blue/silver spoon again at 40 ft.. Kept.

That was it for the day. We left about 4pm. I have to say the weather was nowhere nearly as hot as we thought it would be and the lake lice and other fishermen were few and far between. Nice!
The fish could have been bigger and more plentiful but no need to be a greedy Gus now. lol We had a great day after experiencing several skunks in a row. So we are still pleased.
Bonus pics...

Hope you all had a nice day with your family's! I will be cooking a huge spiral ham and all the fixins tomorrow as Mike and our sons have the day off.
Happy Easter!!!!!
Mike and Kristy.
