Was thinking of trying shad fishing for the first time, and have been to Garcia Bend last year to fish salmon. I just checked the recent posts and they are all way north of Garcia Bend where they are catching, so just wondering if I missed the southern part of the Sac bite?

Shad should be there. Run isn't even in full swing. Don't worry you haven't missed it

Ok, so if it's not in full swing are there shad even further south? Coming from the Pleasanton area so if are there any spots south (of Garcia Bend) where the shad bite is good right now?

So does the shad run start at the mouth of the Sac river (like the salmon run does) way down by Brannan Island or the Hwy 12 bridge?
