Headed out with Kris K for some bay action yesterday. Started out drifting live bait @ BF and then decided that we needed more of an adventure and poked our heads outside GG to see if we could get in on the salmon bite at the Farallons. It sucked and was a slow ride so we made a u-turn and headed back to BF. Found bait and the fun started.

Kris picked one off

Then after a couple smaller fish I got a decent sized one.

Some dead fish on the deck

Saw Kris' buddy Jay out there with the rest if the fleet

Ended up with 5 fish. Typical bay day. Nice and cold in the am. Windy and choppy in the afternoon. Another good day on the water.

Cool, JB. I love going under the gate in a boat.

Too bad the salmon aren't close for the big weekend, but you guys did good with the stripers. Were they pre spawn?

Keep on slaying,

The fish Kris caught was milking all over the deck. The weather looks like a beast out there this weekend or I'd chase salmon. 30 miles is a long ways in the slop. Soon though. Very soon...And then it will it be tuna time!

There's just something about heading out of GG that I love. People come from all over the world to get a glimpse and I pass under it on a regular basis for some of the best fishing in the world. Can't be mad at that.

Nice haul! I'm gonna be heading out tomorrow am for butt and stripers. I heard they picked up a couple WSB recently. That would be bad ass! I was gonna launch Berkeley and run to Alameda or maybe The Rock. Any suggestions?

The fleet will most likely be at Berkeley Flats. I haven't heard much about ARW this year but they've got flatfish at Angel Island and Alcatraz as well. Good luck.

Fun day on the Hewes JB. I woulda had to start a bonfire for warmth if I'd made the trip on my boat. Sucks the run to the Farrallones got aborted, but 3 1/2 hours each way is a little much.

Can't help but think how many fish we could have put on the deck if we'd stuck around through the morning though.

I'm pretty curious as to where the halibut headed off to. Wonder if the bass push them off the flats to some degree....or if they've run out to the bars? Looks like there's signs of life out there.

And for the record....jay IS my buddy aaron (as far as I'm concerned) Despite some past qualms about alleged territory disputes and false allegations of radio spying....Water under the bridge. Lol.

I know kris. Let's all pray this wind lays down so we can go chase some salmon! I need to get a couple trips in before this whole "I do" thing all goes down.

After you say "I do" you have more time to fish. She can't leave then!
