Any explanation for why, Matt?

I guess the salmon are gone down river already and no steel around. Maybe tubers outta Sac state need the flows?

Best,

Yeah, crawdad, I'm pretty skeptical myself, but I think the powers that be have cancelled AG water exports to the South this year?

Best,

Two gates were open on my way in to work yesterday. I'll be driving over hazel to go to breakfast shortly and we will see if they have them open again

Read the paper. Both your US senator and your governor have been working to send more water to their water purveyor contributors in the south San Juaquin Valley.

I was thinking increased flows = fish in the AR so I'll fish it. Well it didn't look to be flowing any higher and no fish this morning. According to the cdec it's been just under 2k for days.

I passed by Hazel Avenue bridge today and judging from the water output, shad and stripers are loving the increase flows but come salmon season.... We might see another "closed" season due to low water conditions come fall just like this s&*&y steelhead season I had this year... Two hatchery fish then kissed the season good bye... WHY DID I BUY THE TAG?!!!!:smiley_crazy:

I understand where everyone's coming from.. ....BUT..

I am thinking its NOW time for some good striper fishing in the AR, I know it was ONE OF MY WORST seasons fishing for them... I believe its time now! I been fishing it for 15+ years (my pops 35+ years) and normally we do really well... I know where i will be headed on my next days off with live bait.... :fishing5::signfishon34hi6zv::signfishon34hi6zv::B utthead::Butthead:

Best,

Not cancelled...just reduced, and not enough in my opinion. Drove over the Yolo Causeway this morning and the rice fields are flooded. If the drought is "severe" enough to post "Severe drought. Please conserve water" on every CalTrans freeway sign in the area, what kind of message does it send when the causeway looks like a lake in the middle of June? Ugh.

Isn't that wetlands by the causeway? I don't recall any rice fields

Yes there's both, but if you drive over the causeway right now it's hard to miss the rice fields...on the south side of the causeway on the Sac side, full of water contained by man-made checks. And the rice is just starting to sprout through the surface of the water. Lots of fields out there right now - all completely flooded.

I just signed two petitions, one to stop shipping our water to so cal and other to stop a purposed .15 cent gas tax increase. We already pay 75 cents per gallon.

Cali is just trying to rape us left and right :(

They said on the news last night they bumped it up to 2500 the night before and it will stay at2500 for like ten days. They say it's to keep the salinity down.
