How long can cleaned Trout (Rainbow) stay frozen and still be decently edible?

If you vacumn pack them or freeze them in water they can still be good up to one year! ;)

Ditto that, if vac. sucked they're still yummy a year later!

And it's not a silly question!

Maybe I'm an old stick but the only way I like trout is fresh cooked... or smoked. It's true the new home vacuum sealers work much better than freezing trout in water. But if I'm going to do that I usually use the frozen trout for chowder and not a BBQ.

get a bottle, like a litter kind. cut the top off. put all the trout you want in there and water. freeze that and bam. you can keep them fresh for about a year. i tried it.

Freezing fish in water is an old time technique and it works, but it doesn't work as good as vac-sealing them. And vac-sealing uses a lot less room in the freezer.
