I tried my first attempt at smoking ribs this weekend Steve. I failed miserably! :( I tried a dry rub and thought they tasted like caca. If whatever you do works, let me know.

I have the same smoker as 916 and IT.I smoked 3 racks of baby back ribs this past weekend. Used a little Pappy dry rub. Used club soda in the water pan, Smoked them for 4 hours on low (the lowest mine will go is 200)used one load of cherry wood. They are the best ribs Ive ever made. 8)

I didn't care for the taste. I cooked them for 4 1/2 hours on the smoker with a couple sticks of hickory. They weren't dry. They also didn't have the fall off the bone tenderness I was hoping for. My smoker is an electric, water smoker and I used apple juice as my liquad.

i too have an electric water smoker and love it.did you make your own rub?i have had good luck slathering my ribs with french's mustard.then rubbing them with a store bought rub like stubbs.i will let them smoke for about 4 hrs .spraying them with apple cider vinegar every hour to keep them moist.then after 4 hrs,i will brush them with my favorite bbq sauce.i like it a bit sweet so i use k.c masterpiece.then i wrap em in foil and let em go for another hour.i screwed up a few slabs of ribs myself.once i oversalted and they were horrible.another time i used too much smoke (i think it was mesquite)and they were really bitter.i like the applejuice idea instead if water.believe it or not,my buddy uses a mix of sprite and beer!?
