Original recipe

For those who live in the bay area, there are many Asian food stores to shop in and buy fresh fish. Many of these places will even fry it for you so you don't have to stink up your house when you fry fish. Here is sort of an onion vinaigrette that goes great as a fried fish topping. What I would do is prepare the rice and all the side dishes ahead of time and then go shopping for fried fish.

I really should not call it vinaigrette, since I don't use vinegar on this recipe. But I don't know what to call it.

Ingredients:

1 large red onion (shredded)
1/2 cup of cilantro chopped finely
2 jalapeno peppers (sliced)
1 large lemon (juice)
A touch of garlic paste
Salt and pepper to taste

Sprinkle salt on the onions and mix well. Let it sit for 10 mins then rinse it off. This removes some of the acids in the onion.

Drain the onion and mix in all the other ingredients. Ready to serve in 15 mins.
