Well done !, nice job of braking in the new gun and getting some good juju on it,..was you happy with the performance of the round?,...that 7mm-08 has gained quite a following.

Nice buck. Really cool to break in a new gun like that.

Are you using factory ammo or are you loading? We have had really good luck with the 7mm-08 shooting almost all of the available factory ammo. Mine is an A-bolt so not the same action just the same caliber. The Barnes bullets are really good on paper but have not taken anything with them yet in the 08. So far the factory Core-lokts have taken all the animals but I recently made the change to copper bullets.

I was s

Factory ammo have not had any time yet to reload
So far I have only tried the federal fusion in 120 and 140 grain both performed well on paper. Have only tried 1 shot on game with the 140 and really I don't think it would have mattered which bullet in through the mouth out the back of the head so nothing was lost

Nice...my buddy just brought us a ham from his closing day 3x4, gawd I love venison, some grind mostly steaks, just got a report from a friend who hunted the first week where I was, and, no bucks taken but good sign, some past up shots due to terrain and gun malfuntions, weather related, there's some good news from the fire area.
