Make sure it's not too old because they get stale and fall of the hook.

I've looked at the raw shrimp at costco and pondered the same thing?
But nobody has tried human consumption shrimp? Maybe not fresh, but should be better than bait.

Store bought shrimp with a brine or cure or plain raw will catch sturgeon. Just like it does steelhead and salmon. With Sturgeon it seems its not really what type of bait you use, its where and when your fishing it. Again just like steelhead and salmon. I see fish pick up worn out eel on an 8 hour soak. All of a sudden your freezer has fish in it, but your bait was not impressive when it was finally found. Roe seems to pick up alot of fish too but i know that it doesnt last long under water. Or does it? Even with netting and thread roe cant last that long. Can it?
